Shelby Thornton

Shelby Schofield Thornton, 61, passed away on May 26, 2023, in Eastland, Texas. Shelby was born on November 26, 1961, to John and Sussanne Schofield in Fort Worth, Texas. She lived most of her life in Gorman, Texas, where she graduated from high school in 1979. Shelby was a bookkeeper at Red Chain for over 24 years. She loved photography, crafting, and loved being outdoors. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends. Shelby married Billy Thornton in 2013. Shelby is survived by her husband; Billy, of Gorman, her son; William Hagood, of Fort Worth, her daughter; Jessie Eaves, of The Colony, two bonus daughters; Sonya and Emily, as well as her grandchildren; Jarod, Addison, Dillon, Matthew, Breanna, Tyler, Dalton, and Sadie, her great-grandchildren; Christian, Cooper, and Jackson, as well as her brothers; Matt Schofield, John Schofield, and Andrew Schofield, her sister; Victoria Meyer, and several nieces and nephews. Shelby is preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Shawn Schofield. A visitation for Shelby will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Higginbotham Funeral Home. Service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Higginbotham and graveside services to follow at Weaver Cemetery. Pallbearers consist of; John Fritz, Bob Fritz, Cary Zipp, Matt Schofield, William Hagood, and Jarod Hagood. Service Details.
