Sally Bernitta Buckaloo Saldana, 62, of Ranger, Texas, passed away April 8, 2021, at home surrounded by her children after a two year battle with cancer.
She was born April 14, 1958, in Madill, Oklahoma, the daughter Lome Price and Irene Dale Buckaloo. She was the tenth of thirteen siblings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Ray, Bill Price, Joe Henegar Buckaloo; two sisters, Ruth Irene Buckaloo and Mary Lou Auch; and grandson Brae Michael Lynch.
Sally was an avid reader, her favorite authors being Danielle Steele and James Patterson having come close to reading the complete works of both authors. She loved curling up on the couch to watch true crime television shows since the beginning of the genre in the late 1980's until her last days. Sally worked in, managed, or owned convenience stores throughout her life in Oklahoma and Texas where she enjoyed the opportunity to mentor young adults that she worked with and formed many life-long friendships. After having children, nothing brought Sally more joy than seeing the success of her children. After becoming a Nana, Sally would rather spend time with her grandchildren than anything else. She could often be found cheering in the stands or on the sidelines of her grandchildren's sporting events. During her life, Sally never really met a stranger just friends that had yet to be made. This continued until the last months of her life and because of that she was loved by so many.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deedra and Chad Coker of Wortham, TX, Kendra and Michael Lynch of Eastland, TX; one son, Kent Long of Arlington, TX; one adopted daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Travis Ray of Carbon, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Coker and wife Grace, Dalen Coker, Daxlee Lynch, and Scout and Remi Ray; four brothers, Robert Ben, Ralph Gene, Jimmy Dean and Gary Wayne Buckaloo all of Thackerville; and two sisters, Quintella Ann Stucks of Moore, OK and Eileen Moreen Trissall of Leon, OK.
