It is with heavy hearts that we announce, Ruby Lee Kinser, 90, passed away on February 22, 2025, in De Leon, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1934, in Gorman, Texas, to Marion F. and Annie (Cornwell) Dennis. After graduating from Gorman High School, she went on to further her education at Tarleton State University. She became a teacher, teaching home economics and computer classes for many years before retiring. She married the love of her life James Murray Kinser on June 12,1953 and had many great years with him until his passing on January 4, 2019. Ruby Lee was an active member of Kokomo Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to garden and play with her beloved pets Whiskers and Joyce.
Ruby Lee is survived by her sister, Mary Ruth Arnett of Lubbock, and several nieces and nephews. Nieces: Vicki Ham and husband John of Midland, Norma Dennis of Arkansas, Ruth Holland and husband Donnie of Blackwell, Jackie Sowell and husband Matt of Cross Plains; Nephews: Harold Arnett of Arlington and Roy Lyn Dennis of Midland; Tina Dennis of Wellman; and multiple great-nieces and -nephews.
Ruby Lee is preceded in death by her husband James Kinser, both of her parents, as well as her brothers Billy Joe Dennis and Roy Dennis, and her nephew Jerry Dennis.
A funeral service will be held in Ruby Lee’s honor on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10 A.M. at Higginbotham Funeral Home, Gorman, Texas. A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:30-7:00 P.M., also at Higginbotham Funeral Home.
