Marcelina Duske

Marcelina (Ramirez) Duske, 72, of Gorman, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2025. She was born in Winters, Texas, to Ysidro and Barbara Ramirez.

Known affectionately as Margie or Shelly to many, Marcelina was a woman of deep faith, a devoted member of First Fruits Christian Fellowship, and a beloved beautician at the DeLeon Nursing Home. She was known for her loving heart, her passion for gardening, and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Fierce and faithful, she lived with joy and purpose.

She is survived by her daughter Becky Ramirez of Burleson; William Duske, Brian Duske, and Ellie May Duske, all of Gorman; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie Duske,  her sister Lila Reyna ,and brother Luis Ramirez.

Marcelina is also survived by her siblings: Raymond Ramirez, Dora Grisham, Joe Ramirez, Helen Delatorre, Cuco Ramirez, MaryAnn Moreno , Janie Taylor, Martha Ramirez, and Moses Ramirez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were blessed to know her.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 5:30 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman, Texas.

On Wednesday, May 21, family and friends will gather at 10:00 AM at Higginbotham Funeral Home and proceed to DeLeon Cemetery for the burial.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will follow at noon at First Fruits Christian Fellowship.

She loved you with all her heart—but gave you the chancla when you needed it.
