Linda Carol Wright

Linda Carol Wright, 75, passed away on March 30, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Gorman, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 8, 1951, in Gorman, to Oran Earnest and Mary Corinne (Jackson) Welch. Upon graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Terry Wright on July 17, 1970. She found great joy and purpose in raising her children and was a dedicated “Granny” to her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply. She lived a full and faithful life devoted to God and her family, and she shared that devotion through her work as a teacher at a Christian academy. In 2012, she moved back to her hometown of Gorman to be closer to family. She also loved traveling with her siblings, a time she held close to her heart. She enjoyed porch time at the Welch house and spending time with those she loved.

Linda will be deeply missed by her husband, Terry Wright, her children; Jeff Wright and spouse, Kristi of Gorman; Jennifer Wright and spouse Sandra of Big Spring; her beloved grandchildren; Haley Wright, Morgan Wright, and Kaeli Hines and great grand-daughters Kambryan and Maevee. Siblings Betty Huff of Gorman, Kenneth Welch and spouse, Linda of Gorman, Doyle Welch and spouse, Elizabeth of Colleyville, and Sharon Bradshaw and spouse, Larry of Azle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings, Mary Teague, Virginia Doubleday, Tommy Welch, and Robert Welch.

A graveside service will be held in Linda’s honor on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Gorman Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home, Gorman, Texas.
