Lester was born in Ballinger, Texas on April 2, 1939, to James Collins Seaton and Willie Lenora (Caraway) Seaton. He married Glenda Sue Clement on July 1, 1958, in the Rock Bluff Community in the home of Glenda Sue's grandparents. Her grandfather performed the marriage ceremony.
Lester started his employment after they married in Hobbs, New Mexico at Furr's Super Market. He was employed by Furr's from July 1958 until November of 1960. At that time, he went to work for Gibson Discount Center in Abilene, Texas. He went to Temple, Texas as Assistant Manager in June of 1962, then went to San Antonio in July of 1965 and opened a new store as Manager. His father was in bad health, so in 1969 he moved his family back to Gorman and bought a Variety Store from E.G. Henderson. He co-owned and operated it for 4 years. He stayed in Gorman until 1973 and during that time, he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, served on the School Board, Hospital Board, and Industrial Foundation Board, was a volunteer fireman, substitute Postal Carrier, and a School Bus Driver, and served as President of the Homecoming Committee. In 1973, Mr. Gibson called him to open a Gibson Discount Center in Searcy, Arkansas, so he and his family went up there for 2 years. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson and family were very good to Lester, but again both parents were needing help. So, with God's help, E.G. Henderson offered him a job with SWPGA in July of 1975 and he was employed there until 2006 when he retired. Lester was happiest when working with his cows or hunting.
