John Ray Shannon

John Ray Shannon, 81, passed away in Eastland, Texas, on April 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on January 5, 1944, to Robbie Clifford Shannon and Nettie Ione Crawford Shannon. After finishing high school, John went into the United States Navy where he humbly served our country. He was a hard worker and held many jobs such as steel worker, farmer, and rancher. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he even owned and flew his own airplane for quite some time. He loved fishing, especially in the Gulf. He was very adventurous and got to travel the world. On December 28, 1999, he married Rosanna Shannon and the two had a good life together.

John will be dearly missed by his wife, Rosanna, his daughter Chrissy Shannon Carder and her husband Jeff, his bonus children, Jennifer Rice and Zack Rice, his grandchildren Hunter Carder and his wife Kaitlyn and great-granddaughter Ella Kay Carder as well as his siblings, Tom Shannon, Linda Perry, and Margaret Jenseby, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

John is preceded in death by both of his parents, his siblings, Russel Shannon, Gene Shannon, Bill Shannon, Joe Shannon, Marrie Long, Ruth Parker, Flora Hendricks, Joyce Bills, and Liz Dement, and a beloved grandson, Cory Liberto.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at the Parker Family Graveyard.
