Joe Glenn Pillow, 88, of Joshua, Texas, passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with family. He was welcomed into eternity by his Heavenly Father, his parents, Robert and Vera Pillow, his three beloved siblings Shirley Burns, Robert Pillow, and Ronnie Pillow, and his cherished mother and father-in-law Verna and Byron Laminack.
Born on October 25, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas, Joe had remarkable talents and unwavering devotion. He graduated from Lake Worth High School and possessed a keen intellect, particularly in mathematics, which he continued cultivating throughout his life. This aptitude led to his exceptional skills as a helicopter pattern maker and master builder. Joe's passions were diverse, ranging from building boats to working on cars and crafting a myriad of creations.
On June 4, 1966, Joe united in marriage with Marilyn Laminack in a beautiful ceremony at the home of Preston and Louise Brown in Lake Jackson, Texas. Their union was a testament to enduring love and unwavering commitment. Joe was a devoted husband, a loving father to Brian, Darren, Dana, and Mindy, and a doting grandfather to Abigail and Jayda. Known affectionately as "Papa Joe," he cherished every moment spent with his family. He found joy in cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, attending his children's and grandchildren's events, exploring the beauty of Colorado, and simply embracing his beloved Marilyn.
For 34 years, Joe dedicated his talents to Bell Helicopter in Hurst, Texas, where he earned a reputation as a loyal, hardworking, and gifted craftsman. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of the Burleson Church of Christ. Joe lived a life marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and placing the needs of others before his own. His comedic one-liners and gentle smile will be forever remembered.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn; his children, Brian Pillow, Darren Pillow (Candy), Dana Flint (Gary), and Mindy Pillow Croft (Garth); his grandchildren, Abigail Pillow (fiance Brandon Glenn) and Jayda Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
