Jimmie Don Rodgers

Jimmie Don Rodgers age 77, of Gorman passed away October 5, 2022. Jim was born September 6, 1945 to David Verle Rodgers and Buryl (Blackwell) Rodgers in Gorman, Texas. Jim married Donnie Marie Chambers on July 28, 1962 in Rising Star and together they had four children. They were married for 51 years before she passed away on May 31, 2013. Jim was an avid hunter and loved fishing, going out to the farm and being around cattle. He also loved to watch sports, especially high school football. Jim absolutely loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids and he would light up with joy being around his great grandkids. Jim was known for his ability to cook BBQ and a good steak which happened to be his favorite foods. He was not afraid to travel to eat a good meal and one of his favorite places to go was Mary's. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Gorman. Jim has been a part of the Gorman Community for 70 years. Jim is survived by his brother Ed Rodgers and wife Ruth of Gorman; sister Linda Rodgers of Fort Worth; two daughters Beth Rodgers Farris and husband Howard of Springtown, Delana Rodgers of San Marcos; son Don Rodgers and wife Marty of Big Spring; daughter in law Kayla Rodgers (wife of Joe Rodgers) of West; grandchildren Dusty Arnold and wife Ashley ( their children Knox Arnold, Maggie Arnold and Jaxon Winburn) of Burleson, Jacky Arnold and wife Nicole (their children Dylan, Merrick and Landry) of Barrington, IL, Avery Ezell of San Marcos, Kati Pina of Austin, Kassidy Webre and husband Keith (their children Kamydn & Kollyns) of West,and Keaton Rodgers of West. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. D.V. Rodgers and Buryl Rodgers, brother George Rodgers, wife Donnie Rodgers and son Joe Rodgers. Service Details.
