Howard Frank Hagood was born October 26, 1935, in Gorman, Texas, to Frank and Nannie (Underwood) Hagood. He went to meet Jesus on April 1, 2023, at Comanche County Medical Center following a brief hospital stay.<br><br> Howard graduated from Gorman High School in 1955 and married his high school sweetheart Patricia Robertson on May 19, 1956. They lived in Freeport, Texas, for many years and raised their family there. Howard worked as an electrician for Dow Chemical and later as a sales representative for Industrial Equipment in Houston, Texas, and Bath Electric in Clute, Texas. In 1975, he moved his family back to Gorman where he owned Hagood Electrical Service.<br><br> Howard was active in the church, the Masonic Lodge, and other community organizations. He was a lay minister for many years. Howard was a member of the Lion's Club and served in many positions. He also served the community through the Homecoming / Alumni Association and supported Gorman students' athletic and academic scholarship endeavors. He loved Gorman and the history surrounding the community. His passion was helping others, and he helped to establish the local food pantry. Howard's desire was to be the hands and feet of Jesus to all he came in contact with. The most important thing to him was sharing the Gospel with others. <br><br> Howard is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, L. T. Hagood, Billie Marble, and Mary Charles Featherhoff. He leaves behind a family legacy of love and sweet memories: wife, Patricia; two sons - Bill Hagood (Kathy) and Bob Hagood (Debbie); two daughters - Donna Lewis (Philip) and Ruthie Quam (Alan); 10 grandchildren - William Hagood, Jessie Hagood, Brandon Powell, Robert Lewis, Sarah Jackson, Emily Ward, Maggie Richardson, Ryan Hagood, Britt Hagood, and Garrett Hagood; 11 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Howard’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.<br><br> A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman. Officiants are Denver Rainey and Richard Watson. A Masonic service will be held at the graveside. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gorman Food Pantry or any Gorman scholarship program. "I have no greater joy than knowing my children walk in Truth." 3 John 1:4<br><br>
