Frankie Jo Hogan

Frankie Jo Hogan, 83, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Brownwood, Texas. She was born on October 22, 1942, in Gorman, Texas, to Clem Clark and Lonnie Thelma (Manard) Rasberry. When she was almost finished with high school, she had to withdraw slightly early to go to work and from there she worked harder than most people. Throughout her life got to be a part of many different jobs such as; working in the cotton fields, working at the sewing factor, working at the hospital, the nursing home, and Birdsong Peanuts, but her greatest job was loving and raising her family as well as taking care of everyone that she viewed as family, whether they were related to her by blood or not. She loved everyone thoroughly. She grew up in Carbon and moved to Gorman in 1976.

Jo married Gene L. Hogan Sr. and had many wonderful years with him until his passing in 2002. She was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW in Eastland, Texas and served with them for over thirty years where she was a former president as well as a chaplain. She never met a stranger and had more friends than can be numbered.

Jo is survived by her son, Gene L. Hogan Jr., her daughter, Erica Elaine Hogan, her grandchildren; Fabian, Ace, and Elisabhed, her great-grandchildren; Jayden, Kenslee, Ash, Kodie, Garrett, Eliza, and Araya, as well as Rebecca, Samuel, Rachel, and Christina, she was like a grandmother to a very impressive 52 grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister, Ruth Underwood, her nieces; Lonnie Hull, Becky Hull, Ann Rich, Marybell Rich, and Resa Linderman, as well as her nephews; Chuck Rich, Teddy Underwood, and Trey Underwood.

Jo is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Gene, one brother, Robert Rich, and a sister, Ruby Hull.

A graveside service at Flatwood Cemetery will be held in Frankie Jo’s honor on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM
