Emma Jane Skaggs Larch

Emma Jane Skaggs Larch, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away on May 16, 2026, at DeLeon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

She was born on January 6, 1942, to Georgie Fae (Sanders) Skaggs and Archie Skaggs in Gorman, TX. She moved to Dallas at the age of 18 and studied to be a nurse, a job she loved for the next 45 years. She spent her life caring for others first as a nurse and then as a caregiver to her mother and father. She returned to her hometown of Gorman 25 years ago to care for parents and retire in the small town she loved. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother (Jerry Skaggs) and sister (Julia Beth Skaggs Cook). 

She is survived by her daughter, Kaycee Larch Richarz and husband Kurt Richarz, daughter Kendria Larch Leighton. Her grandchildren, Michael Leighton and wife Lacey Leighton, Ashlee Slaughter and husband Chris Slaughter, Kendall Richarz Dunn and husband Bridger Dunn, Kyra Richarz as well as many wonderful extended family members and friends. 

She will be greatly missed.
