Eddy Howard Iley, 69, passed away too soon on February 6, 2026, in Stephenville, Texas. He was born on April 21, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Howard Loyad Iley and Georgia Ann (Burleson) Iley. Upon graduating high school Eddy went into the workforce and had the opportunity to work multiple different jobs including Lennox in Fort Worth, Norton in Stephenville, and in the air conditioning business as well. He was extremely intelligent and possessed many talents. He was very artistic and taught himself how to play the guitar. He was quiet and shy, but he was tender and loving. Most of all, he loved his family more than imaginable.
Eddy is survived by his mother, Georgia Iley, his brother, Freddy Joe Iley, his sister, Julia Morris, his nephews, Clayton Loyad Iley and his wife, Jenny, and Christopher Lee Morris and his wife, Lynze, his nieces, Amanda Holland and her husband, Mackenzie, and Whiteney Dawn Kloesel, his great-nieces and nephews, Kelton, Ella, Maybree, Lincoln, Gunter, and Townes, as well as his special friend and honorary pallbearer, Theron Talley.
Eddy was joined together in heaven with his beloved father, Howard Iley, and his dearest uncle Jack Burleson whom he thought the world of. He is also preceded by his brother-in-law, Toby Lee Morris.
A funeral service in Eddy’s honor will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman, Texas and a visitation will be held the hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at De Leon City Cemetery.
