Bennie Charles Boen was born in Gorman, Texas on May 21, 1952 to B.C. (pup) and Allene Beaty Boen, who preceded him in death.
The Lord called Bennie to his heavenly home on June 13, 2021. He was a member of the First Baptist Church DeLeon.
A lifelong resident of DeLeon, Bennie graduated DeLeon high school in 1970 and the next month graduated Brownwood Beauty College. He worked for a short time at Colorama beauty salon before opening his own shop, Mr. Ben's Beauty Shop in 1972. He continued serving the public in this capacity until his retirement on June 1, 2012, making many lifelong friends. He loved his profession and his clients. Bennie had many clients from the beginning of his career until his retirement, most becoming like family.
Bennie had a special love for people. He had a keen sense of humor. He also had a loving devotion too many pets throughout the years. Bennie was an excellent cook and took pride in sharing the fruits of his labor.
Benny is survived by his sister Peggy Sharp and her husband Don of Arlington; niece Stephanie Holland and husband Mike of Arlington; nephew Brett and wife Laurie of Fort Worth; great nieces and nephews, Austin and Rhett Holland, Avery and Alex Clark, Aubrey Holland, Addison Holland, Morgan Sharp, Makinze Sharp and Carson Sharp. Bennie was also a great-great uncle to Case and Briggs Holland and Bentley Clark. He is also survived by many family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A thank you to Connie Warren, a dear neighbor, caregiver and friend. The family wishes to express their immense gratitude to the caregivers at Alpha Omega Hospice who so lovingly cared for Bennie through the duration of his illness. He loved you all dearly and we are so blessed to have had you in his life.
