Cliffa Jean Good Vaughn, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16th, 2021 at her home in Gorman Texas. She was born at home in Old Glory, Texas on February, 9th 1935 to Clifton Good and Mildred Carr Good. She graduated from Anson HS and attended MD Anderson where she trained as a Histology technician. She married Leo Peyton (Bill) Vaughn on February 10th, 1956.
She was kind to everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was a meal, a loan, or a place to sojourn for a while. Cliffa, Bill and the kids moved to Gorman in 1973 and loved being a part of the Gorman community. They started a church downtown called Barjonah. Cliffa loved the Lord and loved being a pastor’s wife and loved the Word of God. Cliffa was hired as the Lab Manager for Clinical Pathology in Abilene and she worked there until she retired at age 69. She and Bill opened the Shinoak Opera House and TimeKeepers Clock Shop. She later became the EDC Director for the city of Gorman after Bill passed in 2004 and was also on the City Council and Gorman ISD School Board until she stepped down at age 79.
She is survived by 3 daughters- Vicki Doyle and husband Troy of Ranger; Dianne Snider and husband Danny of Gorman; and Molly Gaines of Graham.
1 son Peyton Vaughn and wife Nana of Glen Rose.
14 grandchildren- David Campbell and wife Dana, Kim Holtzclaw and husband Brian, Justin Snider, Mary Heath and husband Jonathan, Belinda Segura, Sandra Snider, Mark Campbell, Ty Vaughn and wife Brenda, Nicole Vaughn, Kolby Gaines and Kori Gaines, Aj Vaughn and wife Jackie, Garet Vaughn and Rhys Vaughn.
22 great grandchildren: Mya, Andrew, Marki and Zachary Campbell, Austin, Lauren, and Logan Campbell, Audri, Isaac, Ella, and Isabella Segura, Angelica Ramirez, Nico and Zahra Snider, Addy and Asher Holtzclaw, Brayden and Laken Keith, Victoria and Jay Heath, Wyatt Vaughn and Leo Vaughn.
